Editor : Let’s start with the biggest difference

Wix allows complete editing control to the user. Any web parts on the site can be moved anywhere else on the site. The unstructured editor of Wix has its drawbacks as it can lead to small frustrating issues such as a change you make only reflecting on the desktop version of the site, but not the mobile version of the site.

Squarespace has a more structured editor that allows web parts to only be moved to predetermined rows and columns.

Squarespace might be preferred for someone who wants to create a site quickly, doesn’t want to deal with small defects associated with wix, and is okay with the aesthetic and sensible structure that Squarespace has to offer. Wix might be preferred by someone who wants to spend the extra time to have the site looking exactly like imagined and needs to have complete control of the structure of the site.
